In The Garden
The Vegetable Plot
Digging in manure and compost is the only way to maintain healthy growing soil
for nutrient hungry vegetables. This is usually done before and after the growing
season, in early spring and autumn.
Here is a helpful list of equipment you may need:
- Heavy-duty Rotovator – we have two models, the larger one is a professional model
that can even cope with fields!
- Light duty Cultivator - ideal for repeat digging work - it certainly saves the
backache.
- Compost Shredder - turn your discarded vegetation to compost.
Creating a Patio
As the equipment is now there to help produce a professional finish with minimum
outlay, this is a job that more and more people are tackling.
Here is a helpful list of equipment you may need:
- Mini Mixers - for mixing concrete
- Plate Compactors - to bed down sand and gravel before laying flags etc. We also
have rubber pad attachments for laying block paving.
- Site and Laser Level - to ensure any digging out is level, along with new wall
heights.
- Mini Diggers - for major excavation. We have a wide range including narrow diggers
less than 1metre wide when access is limited.
- Hi-Tip Dumpers – especially designed to discharge the rubbish into skips. These
too are only 1 metre wide.
- Cut-off Saws - both electric and petrol, ideal for cutting flags to size or cutting
out drainage channels etc.
- Block Cutters - simple manual devices for splitting flags and blocks.
- Turf Cutter - to neatly cut away lawned areas, enabling you to use the turf elsewhere
in the garden.
Autumn Clean Up
This time of year is not the best for most gardens, but with a little planning
everything can be put in order, ready for winter.
Here is a helpful list of equipment you may need:

We have both back pac and wheeled versions that are designed to blow or suck –
they can also be used on rubbish all year round!
- Power Washers - diesel, petrol and electric, ideal for getting rid of slimy footpaths
that can be quite a hazard.

mini scaffold towers may also be needed for larger hedges.
- Compost Shredder - turn those twigs and dead leaves to compost.
- Tracked barrows – help to move all the debris away.

try to remove as much moss as possible.
